In this video, Sofia Vega, Board of Directors Secretary, reads: “Sulwe” by Lupita Nyong'o and “I love you when…” by Annie Baker.
“Sulwe” is an award-winning New York Times best-seller (The Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor Award and an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Literary Work) about true beauty, which comes from within, by exploring issues of colorism and self-esteem. In this book, Nyong’o encourages children to understand their own unique beauty.
“I Love You When...” uses simple rhymes by Baker, with beautiful illustrations by Barroux, in order to comfort all Little Bunnies that the Big Bunnies in their lives love them, no matter what. Kids ages two to four (2-4) will love this sweet story!

Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday Celebration Month with Books are GEMS!
Our kickoff begins on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Our Bookstore is giving away one (1) Dr. Seuss book per family, while supplies last.
Children will be able to participate in face painting and other activities.
Enjoy your morning with us from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
